Abstract:

In recent years, much more attentions have been focused on siRNA-based gene therapy. This approach is based on PTGS (Post-transcriptional gene silencing). Due to some defects in viral vectors, non-viral vectors have been used to deliver nucleic acids into target cells. Although, transfection efficiency in non-viral vectors is less than viral ones, but safety of non-viral vectors is much more. Characteristic features of siRNA, such as high compatibility, application in low doses and its versatility make it suitable in the gene therapy field. However, some challenges, such as stimulating immune system and Off-target silencing will be remain. In this review article, we express bottlenecks existing in siRNA Delivery into target cells. According to the information, with further development of siRNA Delivery in the future, it could be a promising approach in treatment for a variety of genetic diseases.

Abstract:

Background & Objective: Job Satisfaction is the person’s attitude toward his/her work. Increasing nurses’ job Satisfaction result in better quality of nursing care and reduces the number of nurses who leave their job. Conditions of different wards of hospitals can affect nurses’ job Satisfaction. The aim of this study is to compare nurses’ job Satisfaction in oncology and Delivery wards. Methods & Materials: This is a cross-sectional comparative study. A total of 144 nurses (94 nurses in oncology and 50 nurses in Delivery wards) of Tehran University of Medical Sciences hospitals participated in the study. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical test (chi-square).Results: Comparison of the global job Satisfaction among oncology and Delivery nurses, indicated that there was no statistical significant relationship between them from working in a specific ward point of view (P=0.637). Also there was no significant relationship between intrinsic job Satisfaction and working in a specific ward (P=0.966). There was statistical significant relationship between extrinsic job Satisfaction and working in specific ward (P=0.039).Conclusion: Considering that extrinsic job Satisfaction of oncology nurses were low, reconsideration about specific conditions of oncology wards and taking efficient measures in improving nurses’ extrinsic job Satisfaction (especially oncology nurses) is essential.

Abstract:

Background: The perception of impairment of sexual function after childbirth in vaginal Delivery (as a complication) makes pregnant women to request elective cesarean section. But this conception is more related to culture. Therefore we studied women's sexual health after childbirth to assess whether women who underwent cesarean section experienced better sexual health in the postnatal period than women with vaginal births. Methods: A cohort study was conducted on 303 primiparous women who had delivered vaginaly and 315 primiparous delivered by elective cesarean section in seven private hospitals in Tehran, employing data of demographic characteristics like age, education, BMI, obstetric history (weight gain in pregnancy, history of pelvic pain and vaginal discharge), stress incontinence history (prepregnancy and during pregnancy) and effect of Delivery on sexual Satisfaction in several follow-ups until 12 months after Delivery. Results: Sexual Satisfaction after Delivery in vaginal group was significantly more than cesarean group. (76% vs 60%, p<0.0001). There was no relation between pelvic pain & Delivery type (in several follow- up). Conclusions: Instead of social conception of have more sexual Satisfaction after cesarean Delivery, outcomes from this study provide no basis for advocating cesarean section as a way to protect women's sexual function after childbirth. Therefore Request of cesarean section by mother for having more sexual Satisfaction after childbirth is not logic.

Abstract:

Background and aim: Midwifery care plays an important role in provision and promotion of maternal health. Therefore, its evaluation is necessary and one of the ways for that is to measure Satisfaction of mothers with the care given to them. This descriptive study was conducted to identify the level of Satisfaction of mothers with midwifery care in labor and Delivery rooms at hospitals of Zanjan city.Materials and methods: 100 women were randomly selected from obstetrical units after Delivery. A questionnaire in 2 parts, namely, demographics and maternal Satisfaction, was used for data collection. Its validity and reliability were achieved by content and Cronbach’s G methods respectively. Data were analyzed by SPSS 14. Different statistical tests including chi-square, Pearson coefficient of correlation and t-student were used for data analysis.Findings: Mean age of the subjects was 25.80 ±4.58. Total Satisfaction was %74.6 in which %35, %53 and %12 had high, moderate and low levels of Satisfaction respectively. No significant correlation was found between the level of Satisfaction and such demographic characteristics as age, level of education, occupation, parity and sex of newborns. Conclusion: Satisfaction of mothers with midwifery care in labor and Delivery rooms was moderate to high. High Satisfaction of mothers in this study may indicate an appropriate and desirable care provided by midwives. Thus, employing midwifery work force is essential for maternal health promotion.

Abstract:

2Background and Objective: Women’s Satisfaction with the experience and process of childbirth is a decisive factor in the mental health of the family and society and also affects fertility intentions in that many women with bitter memories of a previous birth do not want to have children again. Accordingly, this study aimed to compare childbirth Satisfaction based on the type of Delivery performed at Fatemieh Hospital in Hamadan, Iran. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 242 pregnant women referred to Fatemieh Educational and Medical Center in Hamadan, Iran. Sampling was performed through available sampling among individuals who met the inclusion criteria. Written informed consent was obtained from the participants. Data collection tools were the demographic characteristics questionnaire and the McKay Childbirth Satisfaction Rating Scale, which were completed two hours after Delivery until the mother was discharged from the hospital. Study data were collected according to the objectives of the study and analyzed using the SPSS statistical software (version 23). The significance level was set at 0. 05. Results: The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of demographic variables. Out of 120 deliveries with spinal analgesia, 93 (77. 5%) were dissatisfied with the Delivery, and 27 (22. 5%) were satisfied. In the routine Delivery group, out of 122 patients, 98 (80. 3%) were dissatisfied with the Delivery, and 24 (19. 7%) were satisfied. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of women’s Satisfaction with childbirth (P=0. 6). Conclusion: The findings show no statistically significant difference in women’s Satisfaction with childbirth between the two methods of Delivery, including spinal analgesia and routine Delivery without analgesia
